 However, painting is a time consuming task and without all the proper equipment, tarps, ladders and knowledge of the industry, one could be left wishing they had contacted a professional. By example, did you know that houses built prior to 1978 are considered to have lead in the paint on the walls. For this reason, a builder (with a legitimate builders license) must have passed the lead certification program. This program entails learning the proper way to manage paint scrapings when remodeling and/or simply removing old paint from windows, walls etc. Most importantly, the reason for containing the lead is for minors generally under the age of seven who can breathe in the lead dust and  get lead poisoning. Clearly, this is something we all want to avoid so please, if you are going to do the job yourself, take the proper precautions.

It's difficult to tell by pics above- the ceiling and left wall was drywalled over (spackle ceiling), crown molding installed, door sanded and painted, walls painted.
